Continuing Education Course for Birth Professionals

This course will provide an overview of pelvic anatomy and concepts and techniques in trunk and pelvic evaluation and examination including hands-on lab techniques.

 

Taught by Whitney Sippl, DPT, WCS, a women’s health physical therapist specializing in prenatal and postnatal physical therapy.

Topics covered:

-Pelvic floor muscle anatomy and function

-Abdominal muscle anatomy and function

-Diastasis recti

-Urinary incontinence

-Pelvic organ prolapse

-Scar tissue healing

-Pelvic girdle dysfunctions including SPD and SIJ dysfunctions

-Dyspareunia

 

Some of the things you'll learn to assess:

- Pelvic floor muscle tone

- Pelvic floor muscle strength

- Scar tissue mobility

- Diastasis recti width and depth

 

*CEU approval is pending

Must be a currently licensed midwife or currently attending midwifery school.
