You may be able to receive reimbursement from your insurance company for some of the services provided.  You will be provided with a superbill if you decide to submit your claim to insurance for potential reimbursement.  If you have a PPO with physical therapy benefits, sessions are typically considered out-of-network.  Payment is due at time of service and we do not work directly with insurance companies.  You are responsible for contacting your insurance provider to obtain any additional forms you may need for reimbursement and for understanding your individual benefits (including deductibles and what your insurance may cover and reimburse you).  Some insurance companies require you to have a doctor's prescription for physical therapy for reimbursement (even though there is direct access in California) so verify with your insurance company if you plan on submitting.  **Note: Some patients have had success speaking with their insurance company regarding getting their sessions covered as in-network by asking for a "Gap Exception." Every insurance company and plan is different, but it could be worth asking for and explaining that there are no other providers offering these prenatal and postpartum specialized in-home services that are in-network.

 

Other things to note:

California has direct access for physical therapy which means that you can receive services from a physical therapist without obtaining a doctor's prescription for 45 days or 12 visits, whichever occurs first.  After that time a valid doctor's prescription is needed for continuation of physical therapy services.
